A week after four MCC schools showed marked improvement in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25, two in the group fell in the polls and two others held their spots in the latest top 25 released by the national office Monday.

 
Indiana Wesleyan took the hardest fall after suffering a 68-60 loss at Spring Arbor last week. The Wildcats (21-5, 10-2) slide three spots to No. 9, their lowest ranking since being selected No. 14 in the preseason poll.
   
Saint Francis (16-9, 10-2) and Huntington (17-7, 8-4) held their spots at No. 11 and No. 18, respectively.

Bethel College is tabbed the seventh ranked team in the country in the NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Preseason poll, released Tuesday by the national office.

 
The Pilots received 518 points after posting a 52-7 record last season. The defending regular season conference champions were ranked No. 8 in the final 2009 poll after making their third consecutive trip to the NAIA National Championship in Decatur, Ala.
   
The league's top-rated squad opens the 2010 season on Feb. 26 at the Shorter College Invitational.

Indiana Wesleyan and Spring Arbor posted season high marks in the latest NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 poll released Monday by the national office.

The Wildcats take over the top spot in the MCC despite a seven point loss at Bethel last week. Indiana Wesleyan (20-4, 8-2) has moved up from an unranked squad four weeks ago to the No. 5 position this week. The torrid rise comes as a result of winning 15 of its last 16 games including a 14-game winning streak.
 
After peaking at No. 6 last week, Saint Francis slides back to No. 8. The Cougars (20-5, 8-3) have won five of their last six games but faltered against then-No. 23 Spring Arbor last week.

All four of the MCC women's basketball teams that have appeared in the last two NAIA Coaches' Top 25 polls improved their positions this week.

Indiana Wesleyan continues to lead the way at No. 6, up from No. 7 last week. After a pair of wins over Goshen and Bethel the Wildcats top the league with a 20-4 record and a 9-1 mark in MCC contests.

INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University men's basketball junior Jordan Tucker (Kirklin, Ind./Clinton Central) made history on Saturday in a tight 72-69 defeat to the No. 6-ranked University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind.
 
The junior guard became the 30th Knight to surpass the 1,000-point plateau with an 11-point performance in the defeat.
 
Tucker tallied 264 points as a freshman and led the Knights in scoring with 10.2 points per game. As a sophomore, Tucker notched 410 points and led the team with 15.8 points per game. This season, he is the team's scoring leader with 15.8 points per game and 331 points for the season. He is averaging 13.8 points per game for his career.
 
He now has 1,005 total points in his career and is ranked 29th all-time in the 55-year history of Knights men's basketball.
