The Taylor University Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Cameron Andry as the new head coach for the men's golf program. Andry is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree at Ball State University in Public Relations as well as working as an assistant director of sports information at Taylor.

Andry has instructed private lessons for the past four years and has served as a caddy at the Pete Dye Course in French Lick, Indiana. He lettered each of his four seasons at Paoli High School earning All-Conference honors in both his junior and senior years. In each of his last two seasons, he qualified for Regional play in the IHSAA Golf Tournament.

While pursuing a bachelor's degree in telecommunications at Ball State, Andry was heavily involved in broadcasting Cardinal football and basketball games as a sideline reporter, play-by-play announcer and producer. Andry was named Play-by-Play Broadcaster of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters in 2009.

Andry has served as a graduate assistant in the Office of Unified Media while working on his Master's Degree at Ball State.

During the 2010-11 school year, Andry joined the Taylor Sports Information Department with a focus on creating videos for the Taylor athletics web page and local television affiliates as well as providing game day coverage for teams. He produced the Taylor University Men's Basketball Silent Night video, which received over 1 million views and gained national attention.

"The athletic department is pleased with the addition of Cameron Andry as he leads Taylor University Golf," Taylor Athletic Director Dr. Angie Fincannon said. "The program will be enhanced by Cam's work ethic, knowledge and gifts of leadership for this team. We are looking forward to a successful program under his oversight and vision."

Andry, a native of Paoli, Ind., is looking forward to the experience. "I'm very excited and honored to be given the opportunity to lead the golf program at Taylor. I love the game of golf and am eager to help our student-athletes achieve their goals on the course, in the classroom, and in their personal faith. I believe in the vision of Taylor University and the role that athletics plays in that vision and I look forward to being a vital part of that process."
