
WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Senior forward Hayley Cashier joined elite company in Grace's women's basketball program when she scored her 1,000th career point on Wednesday.
Cashier, a native of Buchanan, Mich., became the 13th member of Grace's 1,000-point club on a runner in the lane against Marian University.
For her career, she has totaled 1,005 points and 673
rebounds. She is one of only six Lady Lancers to achieve at least 1,000 points
and 650 boards.
"Hayley has had a huge impact on our program and our recent success
nationally," said head coach Scott Blum. "Her commitment and dedication
to God, academics, family and her team at Grace has been a blessing.
This accommplishment is well deserved, and it has been an honor to coach
her."
Cashier has been instrumental in turning around Grace's program. As a senior this season, she has helped catapult Grace into the NAIA's Top 25 Coaches' Poll for the first time in program history. The Lady Lancers are also on pace to set the record for wins in a season.
As a junior, Cashier was named First Team Mid-Central College Conference and First Team NCCAA All-Region after leading the team in points per game (12.9) and rebounds per game (8.1).
She has also been a part of three straight NCCAA National Tournament appearances as well for the Lady Lancers.
