Spring Arbor was led by Eric Vojtkofsky's three hits and two RBI in 2008 World Series Opener.
Cougars Down Jimmies in Round OneMay 23 | The Spring Arbor University baseball team kicked off play against the Jamestown College Jimmies at 11:30 EST this morning and fought through a spirited effort by the Jimmies to earn a 7-5 victory. The Cougars rode the arm of Jesse Bachman for the majority of the game, as the Indiana native threw seven innings, giving up nine hits and striking out six Jimmy batters before giving way to senior Joe Myers who came in to mop up. Myers allowed a pair of hits and fanned a pair of batters in two innings of work. The Cougars were led offensively by Bachman and Eric Vojtkofsky who each had three hits. Luke Rider and Jon Herbig each contributed a pair of hits in the win. Vojtkofsky, Rider and Brad Baker each drove in a pair of runs. The Cougars will face Oklahoma City at 3:00 p.m. EST tomorrow. in the next round of the bracket. Check out some photos from the game here.
