RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande RedStorm, the No. 2 seed at the NAIA Men's Soccer National Tournament, rallied with two goals to get past the visiting Pilots, 2-1, in the opening round of the 2008 NAIA National Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Bethel gained the first half lead off a free kick from Martin Ruiz in the 38th minute.  Ruiz struck the ball and it deflected off the wall of Rio players and rolled past Rio's goal keeper.

The lead was short-lived as Rio responded less than two minutes later.  Jason Massie tied the game on a carom shot in the 40th minute.  Dylan Williams was denied moments before by Bethel goalkeeper Scott Terry, the ball caromed back to Massie who finished the shot.

The 1-1 tie remained until the 65th minute when Rio scored the go-ahead goal.  The ball looked to be rolling out of bounds, just to the left of the 18-yard box, but Steven O'Hara didn't give up on the play and lofted the ball toward the net where Callum Morris had slipped behind the defense and headed the ball into the back of the net.

Rio out-shot Bethel, 16-5 for the game with a 6-2 edge in shots on goal.  Walzer had one save while Terry registered four saves.

The loss ends the Pilots' season with a final record of 13-7-1.
