The Bethel College men's track and field program won the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) Indoor National Championships at Cedarville University in Ohio.  The Pilots finished 31 points ahead of Greenville for the championship. This is the first ever team national championship for the Bethel College Track program.


The Pilots had four event national champions on the day.  In the field events, JW Maierle won the long jump at 22-10.50 and Diondre Lewis won the high jump at 6-6.75.  Bethel had two national championship performances on the track also.  Calon Boyd won the 400m at 51.10, and was also part of the winning 4x400m relay team along with Nate Phillips, Jordan Heim, and Robby Burns that ran a time of 3:24.52.


Other NCCAA All-American performances on the day were turned in by runners up JJ Jackson in the weight throw at 51-4.25, Trent Chupp in the long jump at 22-6.25, Kyle Klein in the pole vault at 15-.05, and the 4x800m relay team of Vincent Reel, Ryan Starkel, Scott Robinson, and Drew Bishop at 8:00.48.  Finishing third on the day and rounding out Bethel's All-American s were Heim in the high jump at 6-2.75 and the 400m at 51.29, Boyd in the long jump at 21-11.75, Burns in the 55m hurdles at 7.89, and the 4x200m relay team of BJ Austin, Mikal Ryals, Caleb Jackson, and Brad Wilson at 1:33.34.


The Pilots will now take 10 men on to the NAIA Indoor National Championships on March 5-7 in Johnson City, Tennessee.

The Bethel College women's track and field team placed second just 6.5 points out of first at the NCCAA Indoor National Championships at Cedarville University in Ohio.  This ties the highest finish ever at this national meet.


The Lady Pilots were led by three event national champions.  Winning their events were Amanda Westcott in the triple jump at 35-3.25, Nichole Arnold in the shot put at 42-10.75, and the 4x800m relay team of Shelby Morrow, Katie Heisey, Irene Kangai, and Haliegh Sanders at 9:40.65.


The Lady Pilots also had three runners up that were NCCAA All Americans.  Ann O'Keefe was second in the pole vault at 11-5.75, as was the 4x200m relay team of Calyn Zahl, Lauren Brown, Kati Beutler, and Bethany Aldrich at 1:50.34, and the 4x400m relay team of Beenne Capre, Jessie Spearman, Lauren Pridgen, and Kaila Stevens at 4:01.93.  Rounding out All American honors were third place finishers on the day Arnold in the weight throw at 48-9.25, Stevens in the 400m at 59.95, Sarah Mott in the long jump at 16-10 and the triple jump at 34-3, Holly Farrer in the shot put at 38-2.25, and Sam Etter in the 55m at 7.41.


The Lady Pilots will now take 15 women on to NAIA Indoor Nationals in Johnson City, Tennessee on March 5-7.
