FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Ryan Crawford scored the only goal of the game to give University of Saint Francis head coach Mitch Ellisen his 100th win as coach of the Cougars on Friday night at Hefner Field in the National Soccer Festival. USF edged Indiana Tech 1-0.
Ellisen is in his 11th season at USF and is the first USF men's soccer coach to reach the 100-win plateau. He is 100-96-13 in 11 seasons, 181-139-19 in his 18th season as a head collegiate soccer coach. USF started its collegiate soccer program during the 1964-65 school year making this the 45th season for the program.
Crawford (Avilla, IN / East Noble H.S.) scored at the 35:47 mark in the first half on a pass from Justin Darvish. Ryan Roy (Fort Wayne, IN / Snider H.S.) kept the Warriors (0-3) off the scoreboard with eight saves. It was Crawford's 30
th goal of his career in just over two seasons.
