The MCC continues to post the second most representatives in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches Top 25 of any conference in the country with four teams listed. However, three of those teams changed positions this week.
Indiana Wesleyan had received first place votes in each of the last two polls until dropping two games last weekend to then-No. 2 Davenport and then-No. 16 Aquinas at the MCC/WHAC Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich. The Wildcats slipped four spots to No. 8 this week but remain as the highest rated MCC school.
Davenport took over the No. 1 spot in this week's poll after also defeating then-No. 14 Bethel in their own weekend challenge. A day earlier the Pilots topped then-No. 16 Aquinas 86-67 finishing the week 2-1. Bethel dropped one spot to No. 15 this week.
Taylor was the lone MCC school to hold steady in the rankings at No. 10. The Trojans' Dec. 9 meeting with Aquinas was canceled due to inclement weather, but the crew posted a 67-51 win over Trinity Christian three days later.
Saint Francis was the only MCC school to improve in the ratings as they rose one spot to No. 23. The Cougars are 5-4 on the season with their most recent loss coming at the hands of NCAA Div. II Northern Kentucky in their only contest last week.
Huntington was just four spots outside the top 25, receiving their highest total of points (42) since the preseason poll.
The next national poll will be released on Jan. 11.
