INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University men's basketball junior Jordan Tucker (Kirklin, Ind./Clinton Central) made history on Saturday in a tight 72-69 defeat to the No. 6-ranked University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The junior guard became the 30th Knight to surpass the 1,000-point plateau with an 11-point performance in the defeat.
Tucker tallied 264 points as a freshman and led the Knights in scoring with 10.2 points per game. As a sophomore, Tucker notched 410 points and led the team with 15.8 points per game. This season, he is the team's scoring leader with 15.8 points per game and 331 points for the season. He is averaging 13.8 points per game for his career.
He now has 1,005 total points in his career and is ranked 29th all-time in the 55-year history of Knights men's basketball.
Tucker and the Knights will play host to Taylor University in a crucial Mid-Central College Conference matchup on Tuesday night at the Physical Education Center. Tip is slated for 7 p.m. and the game can be heard LIVE on XL 950 AM (WXLW) in Indianapolis. Brad Wochomurka (p-b-p) and Director of Athletics Joe Haklin (color) will call all the action beginning at 6:50 p.m.
