The championship matchup is set. Second seeded Saint Francis will host fifth seeded Marian on Monday night for the right to the MCC's automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
USF advances after a 12 point win in the semifinals vs. Huntington, 77-65, and a 93-71 win over Grace in the first round.
Marian is making history with its 2010 tournament success. The Knights' upset of Taylor in the first round was their first tournament win since 2004 and their first postseason win over Taylor ever. On Friday night MU added to the historic run recording their first postseason win over Indiana Wesleyan ever. IWU had won the previous four meetings in '02, '04, '06 and '09.
Marian will have chance to do it again when they face USF. The Cougars have won the only two tournament matchups in the '96 semifinals and the '99 first round.

Tournament scenarios posted on 2/18/10
With the final regular season games being play on Saturday, here's a look at the possible tournament scenarios based on potential outcomes of those games.
Per the
MCC Procedures Manual the following tiebreaker procedure will be used to seed teams in the tournament: (1) Head-to-head record between schools involved in the tie. (2) Start at the top of the conference standings and compare their records with the teams in order of final conference standings. (3) Point spread of games played between tied teams.
In the event of a three-way tie, the above steps will be followed in order until one team is broken from the tie. At that point, the process will repeat beginning at step 1 (head-to-head record between schools involved in the tie) with the remaining two teams engaged in the deadlock and will proceed through each step until the tie is broken.
The scenarios for each team are:
Indiana Wesleyan…
… with a win vs. Taylor and/or a USF loss at Bethel, will win the championship outright.
… with a loss to Taylor and a USF win at Bethel, will share the championship with Saint Francis but win the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Saint Francis…
… must win at Bethel and have IWU lose to Taylor to share the championship but will lose the head-to-head tiebreaker with IWU.
… with a loss at Bethel and/or an IWU win vs. Taylor will finish second.
Huntington…
… with a win vs. Marian and/or a TU loss at IWU, will finish third.
… with a loss vs. Marian and a TU win at IWU, will finish tied for third with Taylor but will lose the tiebreaker via its 0-2 record vs. IWU.
Taylor…
… will finish fourth if they lose to IWU and/or Huntington wins vs. Marian (Taylor holds the tiebreaker over Bethel and Marian via its win over IWU).
… with a win at IWU and a Huntington loss vs. Marian, will finish tied for third with Huntington and win the tiebreaker via its 2-0 record vs. IWU.
Bethel…
… with a win vs. USF and a Taylor loss at IWU and/or a Marian loss at Huntington, will finish fifth.
… with a loss vs. USF and a Marian loss at Huntington, Marian will hold the tiebreaker advantage over Bethel based on its point deferential in head-to-head meetings.
… with a loss vs. USF and a Marian win at Huntington, will finish sixth.
Marian…
… with a win at Huntington and a Bethel loss vs. USF, will finish fifth.
